Powering Microsoft Ignite

How Event Production Network member MeyerPro delivered Microsoft’s most ambitious Ignite keynote yet for more than 14,600 attendees and 200,000 viewers worldwide

The Challenge

When Microsoft began planning Ignite 2025, it wasn’t simply producing another corporate keynote. It wanted to create an experience that would captivate thousands of attendees inside San Francisco’s Chase Center while delivering the same level of excitement and visual impact to more than 200,000 viewers watching around the world. The event represented Microsoft’s largest use of LED technology to date and would become one of the company’s most ambitious keynote productions ever.

To bring that vision to life, Microsoft turned to MeyerPro, a Pacific Northwest event production company with more than 30 years of experience delivering complex live events. MeyerPro is also a member of the Event Production Network (EPN), a nationwide alliance of trusted event production companies that share expertise, resources and best practices to help clients execute exceptional live events.

The keynote drew more than 14,600 attendees to Chase Center and another 200,000 viewers via global livestream, requiring every moment to deliver the same visual impact in the arena and on screen. Microsoft wanted a stage that felt monumental for those in the room while remaining crisp, readable and visually consistent for audiences watching through countless camera angles around the globe.

“The goal was to create a unique event that would truly stand out to attendees,” said Steve Meyer, founder and president of MeyerPro. “The show was a large, complicated setup in the round and had to be planned in great detail.”

As if the scale wasn’t enough, the production team also faced a major scenic redesign just six weeks before the event, followed by a compressed load-in schedule. Success would depend on meticulous planning, flexibility and flawless collaboration.

The Solution

As Microsoft’s video vendor for the keynote, MeyerPro engineered and delivered the complete visual and broadcast infrastructure for the event. The team supplied broadcast systems, control rooms, cameras, high-resolution switching, displays and worked with technology for the keynote, while also providing broadcast facilities for Microsoft’s wraparound programming at Moscone Center.

Rather than relying on a single display solution, MeyerPro provided a flexible visual ecosystem using more than 2,700 ROE and AOTO LED panels across multiple display platforms. More than 20 LED walls of varying sizes, configurations and curved applications transformed Chase Center into an immersive presentation environment that supported keynote presentations, product demonstrations and dynamic multimedia storytelling. More than 144 million pixels worked together as one unified canvas.

Each display was selected for a specific purpose. Large-format screens created dramatic visual presence for the audience, while curved elements added depth and flexibility to the production. Behind the scenes, MeyerPro aligned the LED and video systems within a broadcast-first workflow so every presentation remained visually consistent regardless of where content appeared across the venue or how it was viewed on camera.

Collaboration Makes It Possible

Productions of this scale are never accomplished alone.

When Microsoft’s scenic design changed just weeks before the event, MeyerPro worked alongside seven other production partners to reconfigure the plan while keeping the project on schedule.

“The biggest challenges were a significant scenic design change six weeks before the show and a compressed load-in schedule,” Meyer said. “These issues were solved by detailed planning with the other vendors involved.”

For MeyerPro, that collaborative mindset extends well beyond a single event.

“The collaboration between vendors is what allows these shows to be successful,” Meyer said.

While other EPN members were not directly involved in producing Microsoft Ignite, MeyerPro utilized equipment from several EPN partner members, including ROE, Analog Way and Panasonic. Meyer says his company’s involvement in EPN continues to strengthen its approach to large-scale productions.

“Our involvement with EPN has been a great benefit to us through the sharing of ideas, workflow, creativity and more,” Meyer said.

The Results

Microsoft Ignite 2025 became one of the company’s most visually ambitious keynote productions to date.

The flexible LED environment allowed Microsoft’s creative team to move seamlessly between keynote presentations, product launches and multimedia storytelling without interrupting the flow of the event. At the same time, the production delivered the consistency and reliability required for a broadcast viewed by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

Despite significant design revisions and a compressed production timeline, MeyerPro successfully delivered a seamless visual platform that elevated the keynote experience for audiences both inside Chase Center and around the world. The project demonstrated how thoughtful planning, trusted partnerships and experienced production leadership can transform even the most ambitious creative vision into reality.
